We are bursting with pride at HelloComputer to announce that the new Musica Website is live. Designed and developed by HelloComputer this is a project close to all our hearts, please take a gander at the press release for all the details.
We created a lovely little site for Hurley that seems to be growing from strength to strength. The competition site boasts the awesome grand prize of a trip to California to watch the Hurley US Open. Users are prompted to create a Hurley profile, give a bit of a story and then do whatever they can to get their friends to vote for them.
You may remember that HelloComputer has been part of B-cycle, working alongside the impressive international agency, Crispin Porter + Bogusky. The initiative has just launched in the states and the media seems to be exploding with stories, tweets and broadcasts. Here are a few of the latest items:
The beginning of a new year necessitated the design for a new internal HelloComputer tshirt. I, Lauren Waller, new to the company and lucky enough to be given the task, thought I would share my experience of this endeavour with you all.
The process took quite a lot longer than I anticipated due to HelloComputer’s unyielding pursuit for perfection - something which was frustrating at times but which I learned to appreciate and adapt to. Being constantly pushed to improve and craft resulted in not only a better design but also enhanced my skills and techniques.
Everyone at HelloComputer is tremendously excited to be working alongside the impressive international agency, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, remember the amazing Burger King “Whopper Sacrifice” Campaign, Dominos Pizza “Pizza Turn Around” and another awesome Burger King project “Subservient Chicken”, on the innovative B-cycle project.
In terms of the nitty gritty of the project, HelloComputer will collaborate with Crispin Porter + Bogusky on the backend and frontend development as well as CMS customization and implementation of the B-Cycle website, and although Hello Computer usually take a strong lead on creative, Crispin Porter + Bogusky have supplied a brilliant strategy and design platform for the project.
We are old hands at seeing our work splashed all over the web, so being commissioned by Maxim Magazine to illustrate the Holiday Gift Guide was a breath of fresh air.
A couple of weeks after submitting the work we received a little parcel in the post all the way from New York. It almost felt like Christmas morning seeing how glossy and hot the illustration work looked in print.
The legendary Volkswagen Citi has retired. To say goodbye, Ogilvy Cape Town commissioned HelloComputer to work with them to create the Goodbye Citi site. A great little digital offering was produced to allow users to track one of the last Citi’s ever around the country.

Here at HelloComputer we have received the highly respected “FWA Site of the Day” award for our digital execution of the Loerie Awards campaign. We were approached by Metropolitan Republic to extend this year’s campaign missive to ‘Feed your Ego’ into the digital realm. The Feed your Ego microsite is a nifty, flash based, viral game that invites users to battle against industry egos to win the ultimate crown.
When your reputation rests on the freshness of your product, your website should talk to the tongue. HelloComputer kept this firmly in mind when creating the new look for one of South Africa’s most trusted brands, I&J. The simple, clean interface presents more than just a catalogue of I&J products, inviting the visitor to discover and interact with the brand.
