Everyone at HelloComputer is tremendously excited to be working alongside the impressive international agency, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, remember the amazing Burger King “Whopper Sacrifice” Campaign, Dominos Pizza “Pizza Turn Around” and another awesome Burger King project “Subservient Chicken”, on the innovative B-cycle project.
In terms of the nitty gritty of the project, HelloComputer will collaborate with Crispin Porter + Bogusky on the backend and frontend development as well as CMS customization and implementation of the B-Cycle website, and although Hello Computer usually take a strong lead on creative, Crispin Porter + Bogusky have supplied a brilliant strategy and design platform for the project.
We are old hands at seeing our work splashed all over the web, so being commissioned by Maxim Magazine to illustrate the Holiday Gift Guide was a breath of fresh air.
A couple of weeks after submitting the work we received a little parcel in the post all the way from New York. It almost felt like Christmas morning seeing how glossy and hot the illustration work looked in print.
The legendary Volkswagen Citi has retired. To say goodbye, Ogilvy Cape Town commissioned HelloComputer to work with them to create the Goodbye Citi site. A great little digital offering was produced to allow users to track one of the last Citi’s ever around the country.

We were asked by Am I Collective (our esteemed and friendly neighbours downstairs) to pretty up a Bare for an upcoming exhibition. What an honour! Considering we don’t normally get paint under our nails this proved to be quite a task.
HelloComputer’s in-house Illustration Department, “NewBlack” took on the task with Lead Illustrator, Simon Maclennan heading up the project.
Here at HelloComputer we have received the highly respected “FWA Site of the Day” award for our digital execution of the Loerie Awards campaign. We were approached by Metropolitan Republic to extend this year’s campaign missive to ‘Feed your Ego’ into the digital realm. The Feed your Ego microsite is a nifty, flash based, viral game that invites users to battle against industry egos to win the ultimate crown.
When your reputation rests on the freshness of your product, your website should talk to the tongue. HelloComputer kept this firmly in mind when creating the new look for one of South Africa’s most trusted brands, I&J. The simple, clean interface presents more than just a catalogue of I&J products, inviting the visitor to discover and interact with the brand.
Commissioned by MetropolitanRepublicto bring the Feed Your Ego campaign to life online, HelloComputer designed and developed the microsite www.feedyourego.co.za. Reality goes well and truly out the window here, letting you design your own personal ego to the hilt.
We adore the Loerie Awards, so we jumped at the chance to sponsor the development of the 2009 Loerie Awards Feed Your Ego microsite and digital marketing.
The idea was to create some pre-launch buzz for the Loeries as the call to entries open. Given that the Loeries have been feeding egos since 1978 we decided to let the agencies battle it out the old fashioned way. The game involves “Feeding your Ego” and if you win your name goes up
So, as some of you might have noticed, the blog has been especially quiet lately. This is thanks largely to us moving over from withtank over to WordPress. A few people have asked why and the answer is quite simple.

The sheer number of plugins available is astounding (yes I said astounding) and its free.
In todays world, you just can’t beat free.

We do love anything that is visually pleasing and perhaps slightly evocative, so it’s easy to appreciate why Miss Mavericks 2008 has our vote at HelloComputer.
We put together a lively shoot with Big Sky Productions last week, focusing on showcasing the best Mavericks have to offer. With a little design help on our part, we think that we definitely captured Yara’s best side.
Keep tabs on the Mavericks site to see all the new beautiful site additions that are in the
