We were asked by Am I Collective (our esteemed and friendly neighbours downstairs) to pretty up a Bare for an upcoming exhibition. What an honour! Considering we don’t normally get paint under our nails this proved to be quite a task.
HelloComputer’s in-house Illustration Department, “NewBlack” took on the task with Lead Illustrator, Simon Maclennan heading up the project.
The difficulty came in when it came to deciding how to theme the bare. We aren’t exactly a tiny studio and, to be fair, the bare belonged to the studio. No one man, woman or animal could decide for everyone. After much debate and reconsidering (with deadlines approaching!) we opted to bring in our mascot, “Hal” to make a guest appearance at the exhibition.
After a week of headaches, paint fumes, mistakes and cover-ups the bare emerges! And we’re proud to unveil our contribution to the cause. Proceeds from the exhibition go to various children’s charities, and as far as we’re aware the bares go on show in Cape Town on the 25th of September ‘09! Be sure to get there early to get the one you like the most.
