For this week’s Soapbox Hello Computer picked up their pens and started to doodle in support of the annual Night of a 1000 Drawings being held in November. The brief was easy… “Draw anything, on anything A5.” The team got stuck in creating their masterpieces. For 15mins we put aside our deadlines and had a bit of fun going back to basics… pen, paper and some great ideas.
Here’s a bit of background:
1000 Drawings is a one night exhibition in the inner city to raise money for charities by selling A5 drawings donated by the public. The works of well-known artists, as well as novices, will be sold for R100 each in order to raise funds for this organisation. This prestigious one night exhibition will take place in November this year in a mystery location within the heart of Joburg’s CBD. Exhibitions will be held in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Dubai and Amsterdam. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for organisations named: Princess Alice Adoption Home who cared for abandoned babies and Paballo Ya Batho that feeds inner-city homeless people.
We encourage everyone to get involved in this amazing cause. It’s a great way to make a difference and give to those in need.
